This photo of a transient killer whale was taken on Monterey Bay Whale Watch. This transient killer whale family (CA51 and offspring) is known to frequent Monterey Bay in search of marine mammals to feed on. In this photo they are busy chasing a sea lion. Later in the same day we watched them catch and kill a harbor seal and elephant seal. Magnificent and deadly at the same time, they put on quite a show.
